Dogfight 2: The Great War - Game of the Day
Dogfight 2: The Great War is an incredibly challenging shooter that straps you into the cockpit for some good old-fashioned dogfighting – Red Baron-style!
Like Rock Solid Arcade’s previous title Robokill: Trainer, Dogfight 2 delivers a polished experience with great graphics sound effects, solid controls, and graceful physics. Each level has an objective, directing you to shoot down enemy planes and blimps, bomb ground units, escort wingmen, or a combination of multiple tasks. You can even score some extra points by shooting the parachutes of bailing enemies, if mercy isn’t your thing.
While it shouldn’t take you long to figure out the basics of flying, the difficulty of missions will ramp up quite rapidly, with enemies becoming more skilled and numerous as time goes on. Luckily, the “Ace Tactics” feature lets you pull off special dogfighting moves like “360 loops” and “ground dives” that temporarily confuse enemies and throw them off your trail. Stringing these special tactics together soon becomes the key to your survival.
The game automatically saves your progress each time you complete a set of 5 levels, but don’t expect to easily blast your way through to the end – some missions are TOUGH AS NAILS! Consequently, Dogfight 2 is a very rewarding game. If you’re not prone to smashing your keyboard in frustration, you’ll be in for a very satisfying (and fairly lengthy) experience.
